Today we enjoyed a cozy day at home thanks to Snowmageddon. The weather predictions varied, and I'm not even sure how much snow we've even gotten, but it's more than enough to hunker down and have a day of snuggling and baking. The only venturing out that was done was to the mailbox and to take the trash out... both done by my sweet husband. This picture is from our front door. We have three steps up to the front door and that thing you see poking up out of the snow is a 2ft planter.
All in all it was a very productive day - Ben got a lot of important things done on his computer (and some fun things too), the girls had fun playing and watching the snow and birds,
laundry soap is made, two loaves of bread are baked ...
And the grains for Breakfast Cookies are soaking for tomorrow morning.
All in all a very good day. Maybe I'd get more done if every day was a snow day? Sounds good to me...

PS...
here's an incredibly boring video of my amazingly cute baby C. I plan on posting gobs of my hubbies beautiful pictures, but he has to show me how. For now, this will have to do. I can't even believe that I figured out how to do this!! :)
All the time God is good.
Well... Thursday was D-day. We both went to the dentist. Ben needed a tooth worked on that they were "50/50" on. 50% sure it needed a root canal. I've been praying for WEEKS that somehow he wouldn't need one since we don't have dental insurance. Praise the Lord his $1,800 appointment ended up only costing $140! We could not have been more relieved!
On another note, my Grandpa has been in the hospital for a few weeks now. With all of our dental bills sucking our bank account dry we had no clue how I was going to be able to go to visit. Turned out that an anonymous supporter of my parents wants to help my sister and I go visit! We're beyond thrilled! This will be the first time that my grandparents have been able to meet the girls and because of the circumstances this is the only way we'll be able to see my parents, too! It's a bitter-sweet visit, but we're all so excited to have a long overdue family reunion. God never ceases to amaze me. He takes our helpless circumstances and turns them around to make them better than we ever could have imagined. In both good and bad times my dad always made us repeat after him, "God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good." And I'm glad he did.

Let's try this again...
Growing up I always thought it would be so fun to have a diary. My parents bought me one complete with lock and key and it was pretty much the coolest thing ever - in my mind. I wrote in it the day that they gave it to me, then hid it under my mattress; not because I had written anything that I wanted to keep secret, just because that's what you do with a diary! Well, I'm pretty sure that's the only time that I wrote anything in it. I guess some things don't change. :) I love looking at other peoples blogs. I love the way it documents everyday life, not just for the readers but for whoever's writing as well. Today I'm going start again. *cue inspirational music*
